You may access my personal experience with Breast Cancer at http://home.roadrunner.com/~amj
In 2003 I was 43, married, a mother of two young children. I had been diagnosed with Ductal Carcinoma in Situ. A very early stage of breast cancer. I chose to have, Bilateral Subcutaneous Mastectomies with reconstruction.
In 2005 I had a suspicious mammogram so choice to have the doctor go back in and do further mastectomies removing more breast tissue and the nipple. Biopsy showed atypical Hyperplasia
In 2008 again had another suspicious mammogram Biopsy was positive for Ductal Carcinoma in Situ with positive micro cells. Had simple mastectomies with negative axillary lymphnodes. Am now on Tamoxifen.
was on tamoxifen for 3 years in 2012 my hormone levels confirmed that I was officially menopausal. My oncologist switched me to Arimedix which I will be on for another 5 years. The cycle begins again severe hot flashes, joint and bone pain and days of total exhaustion. I've been told you know the estrogen blocker is working when you feel the Pain/side effects.... All is good to be alive....
