One week after my last rad treatment-skin has now turned bright red, peeling, and super painful. Dr said this is common. How soon to start healing and excrutiating pain to go away?

I used a product from The Honest Company called Healing Balm. It's 100% organic and I used it when my skin reacted like yours. I also had a problem toward the end of treatment. It hurt like a B*%$# in my armpit area! Wooheee!! But it did resolve quickly especially after using that and the prescription burn cream they gave me.

Are you treating that site? If not find a good cream (I swore by Aquafor) and keep it moist. Another idea is if your resting soak a soft cloth w cool not cold water and place it on the area. It worked for me. I wish u luck. Sending you some cyber hugs.

I kept putting on Aquaphor to keep skin moist. It helped with my discomfort.

I used clear aloe Vera gel, no alcohol in it. Felt really good. Took a couple weeks after the end.

It heals quickly. The dr had me do salt water soaks 5 times a day. Then lots of aquaphor. It took about 3 days till I saw improvement and then it got better real quick. No marks even.
