Insight welcome as I have found more info since seeing my BS. I have a 8 mm IDC, grade 3, so far no lymph involvement but will know more on that during surgery. She said it is in its early stages but estrogen negative. Scared of Chemo. Insight?

Since hormone blockers would not be effective in estrogen negative breast cancer, chemo would be of great benefit.

I can only comment from my own experience. I had 6 rounds of TC and 37 rounds of radiations. I worked through treatment and went camping a couple of times. I was as bald as a cue ball but I never threw up which was most important to me. All I can say is do what ever it takes to save your life because you are important.

These are all questions you need to ask your doctor. Chemo is workable. I didn't find it to be that big of a deal. That was just me.....everybody is different. I felt achey for a week but I was never nauseated, and after the week,mI was back to just living my life. I lost my hair but you wear a wig, hats a, scarves, or "GO COMMANDO" which is what I did unless my head was cold. You need to think about why you are so terrified of chemo. What have you heard, what have you seen? You will have a OncoDX test and see how likely it is for your type of tumor to recur. If you don't have any cancer cells and a low DX score you might not have to have chemo. Ask your doctor these questions. They are really the ones to answer as to your specific case. Every case is different. Take care, Sharon

I agree with Sharon, couldn't have said better myself. We aren't doctors, just patients or family members.

I agree with what was said but if you are estrogen negative, you will not be able to benefit from an Oncotype DX test.
