I too didn't see the onc until after I healed, but my records were forwarded to him and he had my DX test ordered and the results waiting at my first visit. It was at that time that my treatment was decided on.

My experience was the same; about a month after surgery.

So sorry to hear about your diagnosis....it is a scary and stressful time! I did not see the oncologist until after the surgery was complete. It was a few weeks afterwards. They told me they like you to heal for about a month or so before proceding with chemo and/or radiation. I have just now been going through this process...I am learning as I go. Best wishes to you!

Well, I had the biopsy and then when there were no clear margins from several area and it was overall 3, well they said a mastecomy was the best solution. So, because I was in an emotional spiral I requested to see a plastic surgeon for reconstruction and decided on this it the same time. I am now going to onocologist on Monday, (April fools day) and am really scared...I was diagnosed with dcis, invastive ductual and some Her2. Lymphnodes all removed from underarm, problems all of it own. so...thank you for your answer...
