Is there anything I can do to stop the bone pain from the neulasta shot? This is my second treatment and it wasn't this bad last time.

Yes Erin's right. Those two things helped me a great deal with the bone pain. And I would also soak in a tub of really warm water.

My oncologist halved my dose which really helped and my numbers were good enough with that.

Mine got progressively worse as the treatments went on. Claritin works for some reason (the antihistamines) and my oncologist prescribed 800 mg ibuprofen. I started both a full 24 hours before the neulasta shot and it helped a bit. The discomfort was more than that of the chemo at times. But it's short lived at least! Ask about those two things!

Thanks everyone. I took the Claritin yesterday after I saw the posts about it and the pain went away immediately which I am sure was a mind-over-matter type of reaction cause I was already on the 4th day after neulasta ! Im going to ask and try it next time. Also I never thought of something as easy and natural as soaking in a warm tub! Thank you very much

I've had 2 shots already as well. My Dr told me to take Claratin. I take it the day before my shot, the day of my shot then the day after. So far so good and haven't experienced any pain. You may want to ask your Dr.
