My oncologist mentioned a clinical study using Metformin. Is anybody doing or taking this medicine? I'm not sure if I should participate or not? Any info would be helpful :)

Hey! There is an article in the Huffington post about metformin and cancer. Search "metformin and cancer" and it will pop up for you. Sounds like a great thing to be involved in.

Hi Lisa, I just heard about a site where you can ask cancer related questions to physicians. This might be just the place to give you some information. Here is the site http://cancergrace.org/ Take care, Sharon

to shorten the story, I have diabetes and am taking Glumetza, the brand name of metformin. Last year I was taking the generic metformin. I had 3 months of abdominal pain ,nausea, and diarrhea. Which I found out was from the generic. I have had no problems with the brand Glumetza..Just a heads up on ths possible side effects. It's great that this may be another treatment for cancer.
