Rebecca, I think the answer to your question depends on so many things, none of which any of us know. There are many women alive after having some very aggressive treatment to an equally formitable diagnosis. None of us know how our bodies will react to the chemo, surgery, and radiation therapy. I would hope my care-givers would be limiting my life by planting a seed of doubt in my fertile and imaginative mind. I always think as long as there is life, there is a boatload of hope. The human spirit can be pretty tough and a positive outlook is even a tougher opponent to disease. Day after day, more treatments and combination of treatments come into being. I have been lucky enough to hear some uplifting stories from women who have had a rough diagnosis, but are alive and in remission. A prognosis, is only a statistical guess. It doesn't take into consideration the will and grit in a lot of women to stay around, raise their families and see those grandbabies. To all the women out there fighting BC, hang in there and fight like a girl! Take care, Sharon

      Sharon,
Thanks for taking the time to respond. My mom has continued to amaze me with her strength and courage in battling inflammatory breast cancer. She has remained pretty positive and hopeful for most of this time. We had a long talk today, and she told me that she would like to bring in hospice. I want to honor her wishes. I think she's just worn out from all of the medical tests, treatments, and appointments. My mom is a wonderful person, and I can't imagine my life without her in it. We talk daily, and she lives 10 minutes from me. My desire is for her to have a better quality of life and for us to enjoy whatever time we have left with her. Best wishes, Becky
